Upson County Search and Rescue (USAR) is a 100% volunteer search and rescue team trained to search for missing people in and around Upson County as well as other parts of West Central Ga.. We strive to execute methodical searches when looking for any type of missing person which may include the following:

  • Alzheimer’s patients,

  • Person exhibiting suicidal threats

  • Missing children,

  • Overdue hunters/fisherman, river enthusiast, hiker, runner

  • As well as many others.

Our team is ready and available 24 hours/day, 365 days/year to assist local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and other first responders. Our team also volunteers throughout the community assisting local charities, agencies, and community events.

What should I do when someone goes missing?

 

  • DO NOT wait 24 hours before reporting the person missing.    

  • Stay calm, Avoid panic

  • Gather the following information and call 911:

    • Physical Description

    • Basic Clothing Description

    • Medical conditions

    • Point Last Seen

    • Time Last Seen

  • Locate a picture of the family member while waiting for the police to arrive

  • Do not touch any clothing that they may have worn recently

  • Stay off the phone in case the person tries to call.
